Non-Destructive Testing - Precision. Compliance. Reliability
Advanced NDT Methods for Critical Applications
SPAEROTECHNICS provides specialist non-destructive testing services tailored to the aerospace and industrial sectors. All inspections are performed by certified personnel at EN 4179 Level II & III, operating within an EASA Part 145 approved framework and with 24/7 availability.
Eddy Current Testing
Eddy Current Testing (ET) is an electromagnetic inspection technique used to detect surface and sub-surface discontinuities in conductive materials without the need for direct contact. It is one of the most widely employed methods in aerospace maintenance, particularly for airframe, engine, and landing gear inspection.
At SPAEROTECHNICS, our ET teams are qualified to work on aluminium alloys, titanium, nickel superalloys, and composite-metal interfaces, using conventional and advanced probes including rotating and array configurations.
Applicable Techniques
- Conventional single-frequency ET
- Multi-frequency and pulsed ET
- Rotating probe inspection (bolt holes, fasteners)
- Conductivity measurement per ASTM E1004
Ultrasonic Testing (UT) uses high-frequency sound waves to detect internal flaws, measure material thickness, and evaluate weld integrity. It is indispensable in the inspection of forgings, castings, bonded structures, and rotary components where volumetric analysis is required.
Our UT capabilities cover conventional A-scan inspections as well as advanced digital systems, enabling us to document and report results to the highest traceability standards demanded by OEM and MRO programmes.
Applicable Techniques
- Conventional A-scan pulse-echo and through-transmission
- Ultrasonic thickness measurement
- Immersion UT for complex geometry parts
- Bond testing for adhesive joints and laminates

Liquid Penetrant Testing
Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) is a versatile surface inspection method applicable to all non-porous materials - metallic or non-metallic. A penetrant solution is applied to the component surface; after a defined dwell time, excess penetrant is removed and a developer draws residual penetrant from discontinuities to produce a visible indication.
SPAEROTECHNICS operates fully equipped PT stations with controlled lighting conditions, temperature monitoring, and calibrated materials in compliance with aerospace, industrial specifications and applicable OEM CMMs.
Applicable Techniques
- Fluorescent PT (Type I) - high sensitivity
- Water-washable, post-emulsifiable and solvent-removable systems
- Inspection under UV-A illumination (black light)
- Post-treatment verification of repaired surfaces
